How to Wade through the Sea of Affiliate Opportunities
Filed under: Start Your Profits Today; There is no doubt that affiliate opportunities are effortless ways to make money, regardless of how small the amount may be. By becoming an affiliate; all you’re really doing is allowing a company to advertise on your site or blog and then sitting back and waiting for your money to come in. The money is made each time someone clicks on the ad and then a higher amount is made if someone actually purchases a membership to whatever you are advertising. Mind you, the amount that you get is not exactly impressive, but every little bit counts!
With the thousands of affiliate opportunities to choose from; things can get a little overwhelming or you can give into your greedy side and sign up for everything you come across. You need to use some caution here and realize that anything you choose to advertise on your site will be a reflection of you and your business. Not all companies are the most reputable and not all products or services the most tasteful, so linking to some unsavory sites and promoting them with an ad then makes your business seem less than savory.
The best way to choose your affiliate opportunities is to ask yourself a few questions:
§ Would this be of interest to my customers/readers?
§ How is this related to my type of business?
§ Is this company a direct competitor?
§ Is there anything that can be deemed offensive on this site that I am considering advertising?
By choosing services that would be of interest to your readers, you increase your ‘clicks’ which makes being an affiliate more worth your while. Also, if you offer a product or service that is a good compliment to those running the affiliate program; they may be more willing to ad a reciprocal link back to your site which could do wonders for your traffic. And by ‘a good compliment’, I mean helpful to each other’s business, but NOT a direct competitor! With a little caution, you can make the most of affiliate opportunities and make yourself some very easy money.
